RadCat Raw Cat Food
RadCat Raw Cat Food Review
When I first discovered a RadCat Raw Cat Food with the funny name, it made me wonder what is more radical? A raw cat food diet or the cat who eats it? I couldn't fathom my cat ever eating bloody, raw chicken, turkey or lamb, but that is exactly what RadCat Raw Cat Food is. Besides your cats health, one of the other benefits of raw cat food is that it is virtually odor-free and makes for a better smelling cat box, as well. Those may seem like fringe benefits for cat owners, but what does raw cat food do for your cat and will they like the RadCat raw cat food brand? I can only speak from the remarkable experience I've had with my own cat. Before we get to that, a little explanation of RadCat raw cat food ingredients and packaging are in order:
What is RadCat Raw Cat Food?
RadCat raw cat food comes in 8oz, 16oz and 24oz plastic, frozen containers. RadCat is a naturally processed, raw, grain-free cat food that comes in three varieties of non-hormone, non-antibiotic, natural, range-free animals: Lamb, Turkey and Chicken. RadCat is USDA-inspected, Human-Grade animal products and contains no preservatives, fruits vegetables, grains or by-products. Mind you, these are some of the ingredients that are boasted of by non raw cat food brands. Let's be honest, though, are grains, fruits and vegetables part of your cat's natural diet? The answer to that would be a most-definite, "no". One other thing gets don't need to do much of in the wild is drink water. Cats get all the fluids they need from the animals they eat. A healthy raw cat food is filled with fluid and water. You can very clearly this when you open up a thawed container of RadCat raw cat food. It is filled with fluids and blood. RadCat also contains bone meal, animal thighs, leg meat, heart, egg-yolk and psyllium. This all sounds very scrumptious, but will your cat like it? I can only tell you about my own cat's experience with the RadCat raw cat food diet.
RadCat and Inflammatory Bowel Disease for Cats
My cat, Carson, has been losing weight for many months now. Prior to feeding him RadCat, he weighed just 6.8 pounds. He's been tested for every medical condition known to man...or cat - except for cancer, which would require hundreds of dollars more in tests and biopsies. I sort of doubt this is cancer, because Carson began getting sick about 3 years ago. That's a long time in cat years to have cancer, isn't it? When all other medical causes of digestive disease are ruled out, the diagnosis usually means IBD or Inflammatory Bowel Disease - something that is very hard to treat. Usually, steroids and a limited-ingredient, grain-free diet are recommended along with steroids. We've tried everything with Carson, but just couldn't seem to get his weight-up. I had been reading about raw cat food diets for many months, but was reluctant to try it, just because I was unfamiliar with which brands to try. The helpful young lady at the pet store directed me to RadCat raw cat food and so I brought it home for Carson. I chopped a few spoonfulls of the frozen raw cat food out of the container and warmed it up in a water-proof bag by running water over it. I sat some down for Carson and he immediately gobbled it up and has been loving it ever-since. My other, young and healthy cat has no interest in raw cat food at all, but the sick cat seems to thrive on it. After 14 days, Carson gained a little weight for the first time in over a year. He went from 6.8 to 7.4 pounds. Also, he has been cleaning himself again which he stopped doing over a year ago. Since buying the RadCat, I've tried other raw cat food brands since, but so far, Carson prefers RadCat raw cat food over all of them. I'll talk about the other brands in a future article. So, how much does RadCat raw cat food cost and how much should you feed your cat?
RadCat Feeding Instructions
The makers of RadCat recommend 3 to 4oz of RadCat raw cat food twice a day. In other words, making Carson healthy again could cost me about $5-$6 a day or $150-$180 a month! Is there a cheaper way to buy RadCat? I've looked on eBay.
